AJC Delegation Visits Germany
AJC Berlin Ramer Institute hosted a delegation of top AJC leaders from the U.S., a group that included Allan Reich, AJC Chair of International Relations, Walter Nathan, member of the AJC Board of Governors, and Jason Isaacson, Director of the AJC Office of Government and International Affairs.
This timely trip falls during a defining moment for Jews in Germany, Europe, and around the world and evidences AJC’s sustained efforts toward strengthening relations with Germany. Following last week’s OSCE conference on anti-Semitism, which also took place in Berlin, AJC followed up with face-to-face meetings at the German Federal Chancellery and Foreign Ministry, raising concrete recommendations and calling for immediate political action.
The approaching deadline on nuclear negotiations between P5+1 and Iran occupied a place at the top of the agenda in these discussions. AJC’s direct exchange with German decision makers on this issue, including head of the German-American Parliamentary Group Peer Steinbruck, emphasized the value of transatlantic cooperation and centered the unique security concerns of Israel, proving to be a powerful opportunity to extend AJC’s advocacy efforts.
